Ben Garratt says he is looking forward to getting more minutes under his belt this week. The Crewe Alexandra number one played in last week’s 3-1 at Buxton and he is expected to get another 90 minutes against either Barrow AFC this evening or Alsager Town FC tomorrow night.
Ahead of the club’s next two friendly games, Garratt told us: “It feels good to be back playing in the games and being put through our paces again. It is all about getting minutes under our belt and it helps with the fitness.
“You have to treat the friendly games like a league game really. We prepare the same and approach things right. You get your rewards from that.
“Barrow and Alsager will be another good test for us at this stage of the pre-season. They are never straight forward games and there will be a good tempo to them.
“The new players have settled in well and the friendly games are another chance to us to gel as a team. It’s been a good pre-season so far and it’s looking good so that is pleasing.”
