Club Hopeful On Lowery Injury

27 July 2017

Crewe Alexandra are hoping that the injury picked up by midfielder Tom Lowery at Macclesfield Town on Tuesday night is not too serious.

Lowery didn’t reappear for the second half after landing awkwardly and in the process tweaking his knee. He was treated on the pitch before being withdrawn for Ollie Finney at the interval as a precaution.

The Crewe Alexandra medical staff are hopeful that the injury is not too serious and manager David Artell has remained cautious with his other players with slight knocks, Chris Porter and Brad Walker. They both sat out Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat at Moss Rose.

Jordan Bowery and James Jones are making progress from their summer hernia operations, while George Ray has continued his rehab from a fracture in his back with a trip to the altitude chamber in Manchester.
