Crewe Alexandra have completed the signing of Brad Walker on a two-year-deal from Hartlepool United for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old was out of contract at Victoria Park, but Pools had hoped to keep the promising midfielder by offering him a new deal.

Crewe have had to agree a compensation fee with Hartlepool for Walker as he’s under the age of 24.

The 6’1” holding midfielder, who can also play in defence, has amassed 123 appearances for Pools since making his debut in 2013/14.

Higher league clubs had reportedly been interested in securing Walker’s signature this summer, but Manager Dave Artell has successfully persuaded the youngster to move to The Alex.
