Boss Still After Permanent Signings

Alex boss still aiming to bolster his squad ahead of new season.

David Artell has added five new faces to his Crewe Alexandra squad this summer but that is not the end of his transfer activity.

The Alex boss is still in the mix for permanent signings and he would like to sign at least another player to bolster his options for the coming season.

Artell has completed the signings of Brad Walker & the versatile defender Eddie Nolan earlier this week, & he would like to sign another back player to compete with the ones he already has at his disposal.

Artell told the club’s official website: “I’m still after permanent signings. That is what I am focussed on at the moment. We would like our own before we consider the loan market.

“I will keep looking at permanent signings and once we get those over the line, we will assess where we are and what we need. We will see where we are at and where we could possibly be short. All we can do is wait and see before we revaluate and go again.

“The closer we get to the window the more the market will come back to us, because people will be getting desperate.

“The question is whether the right quality is there.

The boss added: “If it's not, we'll look at loans. I'd rather have our players than loan players, but it's not something we will be dismissive of. We can use it to our advantage.”
