Crewe boss says it is important to aim high
David Artell says that his ultimate aim this coming season is to get Crewe Alexandra promoted back into EFL League One.
Artell skippered the Alex on the last occasion we won promotion via the 2012 play-offs and the Crewe boss says it is important that we aim high again.
Artell has bolstered his squad with four new arrivals this summer and he is still after another defender and midfielder as we prepare for the big kick-off on 5th August.
“We want to get promoted. That is the challenge, ‘says Dave. “That is the target I’ve set.
“I am an optimistic kind of guy. I don’t want to say we want to finish higher than we did last season and be pleased with 16th. I don’t want to say 13th or 10th. I want us to aim as high as we can and that means aiming for promotion.
“I think the players we have signed so far have improved us and I think it is exciting times here. Only time will tell but I do believe that this squad is capable of challenging, there is no reason why not. “
