David Artell has told crewealex.net that he believes he has a squad good enough to be competitive in League Two. The Alex boss is in no major rush to add any new faces to his squad, having signed five new players this summer and the fact that the summer transfer window closes at the end of the August.
Ahead of the club’s latest pre-season friendly at Bury this weekend, Artell told us: “The competition for places is good and I think we have a decent squad for League Two that should be good enough to challenge at the right end of the table
“I think we have been able to make some astute signings this summer. We wanted to add some steel and experience and I think we have done that. Hopefully combined with the talented youngsters we have here, it will put us in good stead.
“Hopefully, we will be proven right with the results we get over the course of the season. I’m sure we will assess things before the window closes to see where we are and what we could possibly need going forward. “
