Udoh strike seals victory for Alex Morris

Daniel Udoh's strike sealed a deserved 1-0 victory for Crewe Alexandra Under 23's at Hull City, & a larger scoreline wouldn't have flattered the visitors.

Striker Udoh netted after 22 minutes to put the Alex in control and, in truth, Crewe should've added at least a couple more to their tally.

Callum Ainley had a shot deflected round the post 10 minutes before half-time & on the stroke of the break, Alex Kiwomya had an effort saved at the near post.

Crewe continued to press into the second period & Owen Dale should've scored in the 50th minute, firing his shot at the keeper when one-on-one, with Oliver Finney hitting the inside of the post with the rebound.

After not taking their chances, Crewe were almost paid to pay as the Tigers rallied for the last 20 minutes, creating some chances of their own - but the defence, inclusive of wantaway man Harry Davis, held firm to record the clean sheet & victory.

Crewe: Richards, Woodcock, Davis, Ng, Bakayogo, Wintle, Finney, Ainley, Kiwomya, Dale (Reilly), Udoh
