U18s Fall To Defeat At Table-Toppers
Crewe Alexandra Under 18’s gave themselves too much to do in the second half to rescue anything at league leaders Nottingham Forest in what proved to be Kenny Lunt’s final game in charge.
The hosts took advantage of a lacklustre opening 45 from the Alex to go 3-0 in front, but after a stern talking to at the break, they emerged for the second period a different side & could’ve snatched a dramatic point.
Joe Thompson reduced the arrears for 3-1 on 52 minutes & Alex Hurst made things interesting for 3-2 with 20 minutes to go.
Both Lewis Reilly & Luke Walley had good chances to level late on but despite waves & waves of pressure, Crewe couldn’t get the equaliser their second half display merited.
