Ryan Lowe set to return to trianing ahead of Mansfield trip.
Club captain Ryan Lowe is set to return to training this week after missing the club’s last three games with a hamstring strain. If he comes through this week’s sessions with no discomfort, the veteran goal getter is likely to return to the starting line-up at Mansfield Town.
Crewe have missed their leading goalscorer with 8 goals this season and his return to action will be a welcome boost for a Crewe team that has scored just two goals in our last six fixtures.
Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “The festive games were a bit too soon for Ryan but he is not far off and we are hopeful that he will train this week. We wanted him to be back running and training with us before we risked him again.
“He is now close to the point of returning to training and if he comes through, like we expect him to, then he will available for weekend. His experience and ability to score goals will give us a boost and he gives us a different option.”
