Kiwomya Delighted To Be Staying

11 January 2017

On-loan Chelsea winger pleased to have his immediate future sorted

Alex Kiwomya has told the club’s official website that Steve Davis leaving his post as manager did not affect his decision to extend his loan deal with us until the end of the season.

The on-loan Chelsea winger, 20, was eager to remain with us after making such a fantastic start to life at Gresty Road.

Kiwomya, 20, has scored 7 goals this season and has helped created others for his team-mates but he knows that the team has had a dip in form of late when it comes to taking chances.

Alex told the club’s official web-site: “I spoke to my agent and the staff at Crewe and the best move for my career was to stay.

“Crewe have been very good with me and everyone had been very positive. They wanted me to stay and that gives you confidence as a player.

“Steve (Davis) was a big part of that and I sent him a message to thank him. He had a big influence on me and made me settle here. I can only thank him for the support he gave me.

“Now we have a new manager and it is a fresh start for everyone. He has told us that we need to win matches and move up the table. That is what we need to do.

“I have been getting minutes and that is what I need at this stage of my career.

He added: “I have scored a few goals and created a few as well. I would like to get back to doing that because it will help the team win games.”
