Jonah: "We Have Got To Stick Together"

4 January 2017

Midfielder aiming to do his bit by chipping in with his goals.

Crewe Alexandra midfielder James Jones is hoping he can chip in with a few more goals to help turn our season around. The Academy graduate has made a concerted effort to add goals and assists to his game this season and the Scotland Under-21 International has already struck five goals in all competitions.

Jones, 20, last netted away at Cambridge and he was unlucky not to add to that tally at Morecambe on Monday after twice being denied superbly by Barry Roche in our goalless draw.

Jones has told the club’s official web-site: “I want to try and get into double figures for the season with a variety of goals if that’s possible. If I can get into different dangerous positions then that increases the chances of scoring goals.

“If I can chip in with a few more and we can get back to taking more of our chances then that is only going to help the team get the results we want.

“I think we’ve all got to stick together, keep knuckling down on the training ground and in matches.

“We all believe that we can get ourselves out of this position, it’s just once we get that first win, then I think more will follow and if we get on a bit of a run then that can get you from down at the bottom to up to the top in no time.

“It’s just about turning that corner. We’ve got to work hard, stick together and try and get that winning run rolling.”
