Cooper: "Something To Build On"

30 January 2017

George Cooper says Alex will go to Exeter looking to win the game.

The in-form George Cooper says it is important that Crewe build on the clean-sheet and point achieved against Cheltenham Town last weekend. The Warrington-based youngster, who has arguably been the club’s most consistent player this season, felt that we did enough on Saturday to have collected all three points and he now wants to take that level of performance into a tricky game at in-form Exeter next weekend.

Cooper told Crewe Alex PlayerHD: “I thought we should have had the three points (against Cheltenham) with the chances we had but the point and clean-sheet gives us something to build on and it is important we take that into the game next week.

“We move on and its Exeter City away next week, which will be difficult but we will go there looking to win the game. Hopefully we can take our chances better and get the three points.

“It was a different role for me at left wing-back but I enjoyed it. I could get forward and try and get us on the front foot. It was hard work but I think I got some good crosses over. I could have kept the ball better at times but it is something to work on and I am looking forward to the next game.”
