Boss Remains Hopeful Of Further Window Signing

25 January 2017

Artell says he and his staff working on bringing in another new face.

David Artell says he will continue to work tirelessly to bring in some reinforcements during the January transfer window. The new Crewe Alexandra boss has already replaced Ryan Lowe with the on-loan Jordan Bowery and he would like at least another new face to improve his options for the remaining last few months of the season.

Artell told the club’s official web-site: “We are working on things constantly and I’ve been busy speaking to people in the game about players and who could be available. You do get some names given to you and we have our own list of possible targets that we have been working through.

“The transfer window is an opportunity for us to do some business. We are fully aware that when it closes that it is. I would be happy to go with what we have because I believe in this group of players. I do think there is enough talent in there to win games. They have a lot of qualities. They just have to start believing in themselves a bit more.

The boss added: “If we can get some further help from outside then I would do it. It is never straightforward and recruitment at whatever level isn’t easy because of the influence of agents and the power they have over players. We will try and do something before the window shuts.”
