New boss keen to implement ideas & address the lack of goals
Crewe Alexandra Manager Dave Artell is going into his first game as boss against Luton Town tomorrow ready to battle.
He’s had a week to work with his new squad of players & is confident he’s got his key message over to the players, despite the short time-frame.
Dave said: “We’re as ready as we’re going to be for the game.
“They come thick & fast even Saturday to Saturday without the midweek games. We’re as ready as we can be.
“Obviously I’d like another two months with the players to get my point across to them, but that’s not the world we work in, but we’ve tried to get across our real key message to the players & hopefully that’ll come to fruition tomorrow.
“Scoring goals & not conceding is the recipe, it’s the ingredients that we’re after - & how long we put it in the oven for.
“It’s obvious what we need to do, we’ve scored one goal in four games & that was a direct free-kick. We need to score some goals, we need to create some chances. Goals win games & goals change games.”
