Artell: "We Are Still Trying Over Players"

23 January 2017

New boss working hard to try and bring in another new face.

Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell says he would still like to conduct some transfer business before the closure of the transfer window at the end of the month. Last week, Artell signed forward Jordan Bowery on loan from Leyton Orient until the end of the season and he extended the deal to keep midfielder Danny Hollands with us through to the summer.

The Alex boss says he is still trying to bring in another new face to bolster his options. Crewe have now gone 9 games without a win and take of Gary Johnson’s Cheltenham this weekend.

David told crewealex.net: “We are still trying to bring another one in. We have until the end of the deadline to do a bit of business and we will try. We can only be hopeful and all I can do is my best to bring another one in who can help us.

“The chairman and the board have been brilliant with us. They have been great on all fronts, not just in trying to get players in. They have been very supportive over all the aspects of the job and they have been in constant contact with all the staff.

“We will have to wait and see what can be done. It is never easy but if something can be done then we will do our best.”
