Artell To Have Davis Talks

17 January 2017

Artell would like H to remain at the club.

New Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says he will hold further talks with defender Harry Davis concerning his future.

The centre-half was left out of the squad during our 2-1 home loss to Luton Town following the departure of his father, Steve, as manager the weekend before.

Artell told crewealex.net: “I will speak with Harry later today to see if he is right enough to be involved at the weekend. If he is then that’s great.

“I understand with what happened and it is to me as a manager to make that decision. I chose not to involve him and gave George (Ray) his chance.

“I don’t want Harry to go. He is a good player. A consistent player and I’m sure we will have another honest and open conservation about things.

“We will see how he is and where he is at. The way I see it, he is still part of my plans.

He added: “I don’t want players to leave but if they don’t want to be here then they can leave. I want 25, 26 lads here who are going to run through a brick wall for each other and for the club. It is vital.”
