Artell On Cheltenham

27 January 2017

David Artell says Cheltenham have added some fresh faces but their style won't alter too much.

David Artell is expecting a different Cheltenham Town to arrive in South Cheshire this weekend but says their hard working style and shape won’t alter too much.

Cheltenham boss Gary Johnson has added seven players to his squad during the January window, which includes the most recent signing of the Scunthorpe United forward Kyle Wootton.

Ahead of our meeting at Gresty Road this weekend, Artell said: “Cheltenham have added to their squad and I am sure they will come with a real vigour and be fresh but we have prepped and will be ready.

“Gary (Johnson) has given his players a fair crack of the whip and probably felt he needed to change personnel. He has been able to do that and we will have to stand up to that and make sure that our own quality comes through.

“We want to win the game and the fans can help us achieve that. I thought they were really terrific against Luton and hope they have seen some encouraging signs in the first two games.

“We have to put two halves together and if we can do that them I am sure we can put on a good performance. Good performances usually follow with a result.

Dave added: “Cheltenham have added some new players and they are a decent team but I don’t think Gary will look to change their style too much. They are good at what they do and we will have to ready for that but at the end of the day, it is about what we do.”
