Artell: "It's Not Do Or Die"

25 January 2017

Boss says its important to keep Cheltenham fixture in perspective.

David Artell says that his Crewe Alexandra players have to treat Saturday’s home game against Cheltenham as purely as a chance to achieve three points. Artell appreciates that three points against a fellow struggler is important but he is quick to stress that there are still a lot of games remaining in the season.

Ahead of this weekend’s clash, Dave said: “It is an important game but they are all important. There were three points available at Doncaster and there will be three points available against Exeter the following week. The next one is important because it is the one in front of us. It is not Cup Final time yet.

“There are three points up for grabs and I’m sure Cheltenham will be treating it exactly the same. It is not life or death for us on Saturday because we are still in January and there are a lot of games to go yet.

“It is not do or die and it is important that it is not treated like a Cup Final because the players have to relax and express themselves. It is important and we are at home but we have a plan to go out and there win and that is what we will aim to do.”
