Artell: "Clean Slate For All The Players"

11 January 2017

David Artell says that he speak to all his player on a individual basis before the weekend.

David Artell has told crewealex.net that he will talk to every member of his first-team squad this week. The Alex boss is planning to talk to all his players on an individual basis and has expressed to the press that it is a ‘clean slate for everyone’.

Artell says that places up for grabs as Crewe aim to turn around what has been a disappointing last three months for the club.

The new Crewe Alexandra boss will also make sure he re-assures defender Harry Davis about his future as part of the first-team following the departure of his father as manager on Sunday.

David told crewealex.net: “I will try and speak to all the players on an individual basis. They know that it is a fresh start now, a clean slate for everyone and it is up to them to take their opportunities.

“I have spoken to a number of them already and I will make time to talk to the rest of them.

“I will speak to Harry and reassure him. He is a really good pro and I am sure he will deal with things in his own way. If he has any issues or fears then we will speech about it.

“I am there to help and guide him. He is one of the older Academy lads if you like and he has been around the club for a long time. It is never nice when a manager goes and I am under no illusions that it will even harder when it’s your father.

He added: “I have been a player myself in a large number of dressing rooms and I know and understand what players need and want.”
