Artell: "Ball In Harry's Court"

31 January 2017

Boss says that if Harry Davis want to leave then he and his agent need to sort it out today.

David Artell says that the 'ball remains very much in Harry Davis’ court' over his immediate future.

The Alex defender played for the club’s Under-23s in their 1-0 win at Hull City last night but has still expressed a desire to leave the club during the January window.

Artell has stressed that if he wants to leave today, then it is up to his agent to sort out a move before the 11pm deadline.

Artell told the club’s official web-site: “Harry is here and he played for the Under-23s last night. He played well and helped them get a clean-sheet.

“The ball is in his court. If he wants to leave then it is up to his agent and him to make sure it happens. We can’t do that for them.

“He put his eggs into the one basket, saying he wanted to leave, and that is fine. If that is what he wants to do. I am not one for grudges and we would shake hands and wish him all the best.

“If he still here after the window then the door is still open for him. He has some making up to do but he is a good kid and I like him. He will have to prove with his actions that he wants to play for this football club again.

“I’ve spoken to his agent and he has told me that there were some clubs interested but they have taken someone else, or they are waiting on one going out, or whatever. I am not interested in that. If he wants to go then he should sort it out.”
