New loan signing eager to find the net and help the Alex move away from the drop zone.
Crewe Alexandra’s new loan signing Jonny Margetts is hoping to fire the club up the league table after completing his switch from Scunthorpe on deadline day. Alex boss David Artell beat off competition from other club to secure the signature of the former Lincoln City forward and now Margetts, 23, is hoping to repay that faith with goals.
The Doncaster-born striker has impressively scored 17 league goals from just 21 starts during his career and now he is eager to show that he can continue to fins the back of the net in the EFL.
The club’s one of two deadline day signings, told crewealex.net: “I am delighted to be here at Crewe. The manager (David Artell) spoke to me and asked me to come down and get some games and I jumped the chance. It is a great club, the stadium is lovely and I’m just looking forward to getting out and playing.
“Hopefully I can play as many games as I can and score some goals to help the team. I always try to give everything and I back myself to take chances if they come my way. My goals have got me to where I am and I’m confident that I can continue to score goals at this level. I just try to get in the box as much as I can and I back myself to score when an opportunity comes my way.
“It has been difficult at Scunthorpe because they have done so well but I’ve worked hard, kept my head down and just waited to have an opportunity whether that was going to be there or out on loan. I’ve now got the opportunity to show people what I can do.
“I’m fit and ready to play and I am just looking forward to it.”
