Hollands Ruled Out For Extended Period

20 February 2017

Danny Hollands ruled out with more severe tendon injury

David Artell confirmed that Danny Hollands will be missing for an extended period after suffering a hamstring injury against Wycombe. The Club captain is thought to be out for a minimum of at least eight weeks after aggravating a tendon rather than the hamstring muscle.

Artell describe the news as ‘not great’ following the club’s 2-2 draw with Blackpool.

The Crewe Alexandra boss told the club’s official web-site: “I spoke to Rob Sharpe (physio) following Dan’s scan and it was not great news.

“He is going to be out for an extended period of time and it will be a minimum of at least eight weeks. It’s not great. He has suffered an injury with the tendon rather than the muscle and that means it will not heal as quick because the blood flow to the injury is not as good.

“We will try and support him the best we can and try and get him back as quickly as we can.”
