Alex boss has great respect for top manager Jones.
Dave Artell says he is looking forward to pitting his wits against the vastly experienced Dave Jones at Hartlepool this evening. Artell will take his Crewe side to Victoria Park aiming to bounce back from Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Stevenage and the relatively new Alex boss says it will be a great tactical battle against the former Cardiff, Sheffield Wednesday, Wolves and Southampton boss.
Artell holds Jones, 60, in high esteem and ahead of our game said: “Dave has been around the block and what he doesn’t know about football is probably not worth knowing. He has seen it and done it and if anyone can turn things around at Hartlepool and get them out of trouble then it is him.
“He is very astute tactically and it will be a tough game. We won’t be underestimating anyone and we would be foolish to do so because Dave Jones is very experienced.
“I’m sure Dave would have liked more points than he has got so far, and I’m the same, but he will turn it around. I’m just hoping that it doesn’t start tonight against us.”
