Dagnall: "We Have To Keep Going"

21 February 2017

Striker talks to Crewe Alex PlayerHD after his four goals in a week help us achieve seven points.

Chris Dagnall has told Crewe Alex PlayerHD that he firmly believed that he would soon be back in the goals and that the club would turn their fortunes around. Daggers has hit four goals in his last three games to help Crewe collate seven points and move us up the table slightly. The experienced goal scorer has formed a promising partnership with new loan signing Jordan Bowery and George Cooper and although it is a slightly different position to what he is used to, he is enjoying the responsibility.

Dags told Crewe Alex PlayerHD: “Football can change quickly. You can go a long time without a goal and then score four in a week, so I’m grateful for the goals but more importantly the team have been able to collect seven points.

“It has been massive for the club because we looked as though we were being dragged into it. The players are looking forward to each and every game because we have been frustrated. We have put on some good performances but not quite been able to get the results to go with it.

“I’ve seen it before and it is just important to get your head down and work hard and it has paid off for us. We have enough quality here and you just have to keep a level head and work through it.

Dagnall added: “I’m enjoying it. I am playing slightly out of position if you like, but with Jordan (Bowery) up there, it gives me and Coops and the midfield lads something to work off. Me and Coops have a bit of a free role and go either side and it is working out well.”
