Artell praise for unsung hero Jordan Bowery.
David Artell has told the club’s official web-site of his delight in loan signing Jordan Bowery and the difference he has made to the Crewe front line. The on-loan Leyton Orient is yet to get off the mark in his four appearances for the club, but Artell says that his presence, aerial ability and bright play has allowed the likes of Chris Dagnall and George Copper to flourish.
The Crewe boss said: “One of the criticisms about the Lowe and Dagnall partnership was that they were too similar. Now I don’t really buy into that because they are two good players but when you do have different players, it gives you different options.
“One of the things I thought we needed was a focal point up there and Jordan has provided that. I thought he was excellent at Doncaster and for me he was the best player on the pitch against Grimsby. I know Coops and Daggers will get the plaudits but Jordan set the tempo. He was positive and aggressive and the players worked off him.
“The shot he had which the keeper clawed out of the top bin was terrific and all that was missing from him was a goal. I know strikers are judged on their goals but Jordan has been bright in his play and has been a real asset for us.”
