David Artell on his recruitment man Neil Baker

Dave Artell says that he will use the knowledge and experience of Neil Baker as he heads up our recruitment drive going forward. The Crewe Alexandra boss held a meeting with the club’s scouts prior to our mid-week fixture against Wycombe Wanderers and he will tap into the experienced of Baker.

David told the club’s official web-site: “Why wouldn’t I use Neil Baker? He has been in the game longer than most and his knowledge of the game and players is vast.

“Neil knows this football club inside out and he is always one you can gauge good opinion from. Sometimes I will use it and sometimes I don’t. It is good to have that open dialogue and he has been great with me since I came in. I think he has got some of that zest back.

“I don’t know what his ambitions are, short terms, mid-term or long term, but I’m sure we will sit down and have a chat about it. He is a massive part of what we are trying to do here.”
