Artell On Wycombe Test

14 February 2017

David Artell believes mind-set has to be spot on to get a result against the Chairboys.

David Artell expects another tough encounter against Wycombe Wanderers this evening but has challenged his players to hit the same standard of performance that saw us score five against Grimsby on Saturday.

Gareth Ainsworth’s Wycombe side are handily placed to mount a serious push for a play-off place, but will be smarting after a shock 3-0 defeat at Stevenage at the weekend.

Ahead of our home game this evening, Artell said: “I watched the first half of their game at Stevenage on Saturday night after our game and then watched the second half on Sunday.

“Kenny (Lunt) went to Coventry to watch them and we know they are a very good team who could get in the play-offs but they are beatable. We all are.

“It is about what we do. We have seen that. You don’t get two more extremes than Exeter City away and then at home to Grimsby. If we go with the same mind-set at Exeter then we will get turned over and it will be a long night. If we go with the same mentality we had against Grimsby then we have every chance of getting a result.

“It doesn’t matter where you are in the table, you don’t want to create unnecessary pressure. You don’t need it. I’ve not looked at the League table since I took over and that is the truth. I am not into ifs and buts, and if we just do this or that. Next game is the most important one and that is all I’m focussed on.”
