U18 Report & Goals: Huddersfield Town 3-2 Crewe

7 December 2017

Crewe Alexandra Under 18's slipped to a fourth straight league defeat - all by a solitary goal - with a 3-2 reverse at Huddersfield Town.

Regan Griffiths & Luke Walsh twice scored to draw Crewe level, but the Terriers won it against the run of play in the last ten minutes - as Hull had done the week previous, scoring with the last kick of the game for a 2-1 victory.

Huddersfield took the lead in the first half, the striker breaking into the box & coolly finishing past Sam Booth in the Alex goal.

Griffiths pounced with the equaliser on 55 minutes, reacted first to steer home the loose ball after George Nunn's shot on the angle came back off the post.

Back came Huddersfield though & they re-took the lead thank to another cool finish from a one-on-one, with the ball being slotted past Booth.

Walsh unleashed a firecrack half-volley on his weak foot from the edge off the box that flew into the top corner to draw things deservedly level at 2-2.

Crewe dominated thereafter but couldn't find the telling goal & were hit with the sucker-punch eight minutes from time as the Terriers had a rare foray up-field to score the winner for themselves.

Crewe: Booth, Barlow (Offord), Harrison, Fenton, Adebisi, Lynch, Heath, Griffiths, Hurst, C.Johnson (Walsh), Nunn
