No Fresh Injury Concerns Ahead Of Cambridge Trip

28 December 2017

David Artell says that he has no fresh injury concerns ahead of our encounter at Cambridge on Saturday. The Alex boss made three changes from the side that lost 3-0 to Swindon with Charlie Kirk, Chris Porter and Conor Grant all earning recalls for the Boxing Day fixture at Chesterfield. Porter and Kirk were both on target in a deserved 2-0 win.

The Alex boss says that with the fixtures coming thick and fast, all the squad have to be on their toes because they may be needed for our trip to the Abbey Stadium and then for our New Years’ Day home game against Grimsby.

Artell told crewealex.net: “They are all alright at the moment. Those little knocks seem to clear up when you win.

“We are mindful of having a lot of games over a short space of time but all the clubs are in the same boat. We all have to cope with it.

“I just wish I was 18, 19, and 20 again. I would want to play every day if I could. The holiday period is a busy time but we told them all that they may well be needed at some point, so they have to be ready.”
