Lowery: "About Time We Got Three Points"

20 December 2017

Midfielder Tom Lowery says that Crewe Alexandra have to build on last weekend’s 3-0 win over Crawley with another positive result against Swindon Town.

Crewe host David Flitcroft’s side at the Alexandra Stadium this weekend aiming to secure back-to-back wins for the first time since August.

Lowery’s return from a recent hamstring injury has certainly helped Crewe play better football and he was influential in our comfortable win over Harry Kewell’s side at the weekend. Jimmy Smith’s frustration got the better of him and he was red carded for catching Lowery with his arm early in the second half, as Crewe cruised to victory.

Ahead of the visit of Swindon, Tom told us: “It was about time we got three points, our results and performances haven't been anywhere near good enough.

“We all feel we should be winning a lot more games, and haven't been playing as well as we should be. Thankfully we put in a good performance. Hopefully now we can turn a corner.

“If we keep working hard the results will come. There has been pressure because we haven't been winning and we're at the wrong end of the league.

“I think we are getting there, especially the defensive performances have been better.

“We need to go into the game on Saturday and it needs to be the same again. We can't afford to win a game then lose two, that's not good enough.

He added: “We have to put together a string of performances and get up the table.”
