Callum Ainley is expected to make a full recovery for this weekend’s home game against Crawley Town after he was forced off with a nasty cut above his eye against Blackburn during our FA Cup replay.
Ainley had to be replaced by Charlie Kirk just minutes before the interval after bleeding from the wound but after having stitches, he is expected to declare himself available for the visit of the Red Devils on Saturday.
Boss David Artell explained: “Callum received a nasty gash just above his eye and was forced to come off. We patched him up with some stitches and we will see how he is. I am sure he will be fine.
“It was a bad cut but he wasn’t out for standing count or anything like that, so I am sure he will train as normal and declare himself available for selection for Saturday.”
