Artell: "One Game At A Time"

21 December 2017

David Artell says that no-one at the Football Club has got carried away following our 3-0 win over Crawley last Saturday. The Alex boss was delighted with the all-round performance and result but he knows there have been too many false dawns this season and that we haven’t had back-to-back wins since the first month of the season.

Crewe face Swindon Town at home this weekend looking to change that statistic but David Flitcroft’s side arrive in South Cheshire with the best away record in the division. The Robins have won seven away games, including an impressive 3-0 win at promotion favourites Luton Town.

Ahead of our weekend clash, Artell said: “We haven’t been able to follow one good result with another this season. That is something we have to improve on and we have a great chance to do that against Swindon on Saturday.

“We have another home game and it would be great to go into the busy Christmas period with back-to-back home wins. We have to embrace the challenge head on and try and get the three points. Nothing has changed with that and after the way we played against Crawley we should be confident.

“Swindon played on the Friday night, so I know that David Flitcroft came to the game and I’m sure he would have gone away with food for thought.

“We can take positives from our last two performances against Blackburn and Crawley but there is no-one here getting carried away.

“It is all about the next game and that is Swindon this Saturday.”
