Zoumana Back In Contention

18 August 2017

Left-back Zoumana Bakayogo is back in contention for the visit of Barnet tomorrow after overcoming a slight knee problem.

The Frenchman has not appeared this season after sustaining the injury towards the end of the club’s pre-season programme, but now the 31-year-old is available for selection again after successfully coming through our U-23 game against Ipswich Town on Monday.

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell told the club’s official web-site: “Zooms is fit and available for selection again. He came through the game on Monday and he is back in the fold. He has trained this week and he is back in contention.

“As I’ve said there has been no deadline set for the injured players. All I’ve asked from them is to be fit. Of course, we would have liked them to all be fit at the start of the season, but if they are fit five days after or five weeks after it doesn’t matter. I just want them to be fit and ready.

“Mother nature decides when they are fit and that is the way it is.”
