David Artell has not ruled out the possibility of Jordan Bowery and James Jones being involved in some capacity against Mansfield Town.
Both players have made a successful return to training following hernia operations and although they have not participated in any of the pre-season matches, Artell says he would not hesitate to involve them on the opening day of the season.
The Crewe Alexandra boss told crewealex.net: “Jonah and Jordan could play a part. I am not ruling it out. They trained last week and they will train all this week.
“They are professional footballers and have kept themselves fit. There is no reason why they couldn’t play some part. We will have to see how they do this week.”
