Garratt Targets Another League Shut-Out

31 August 2017

Crewe Alexandra goalkeeper Ben Garratt is targeting a third consecutive clean-sheet in the league this weekend after his impressive shut-outs against Barnet and Port Vale. Despite making some stunning saves in one-v-one situations against Newcastle United U-21s on Tuesday evening the in-form goalkeeper was beaten twice in our 2-1 defeat.

Garratt is aiming for another clean-sheet though as we get back to league affairs with a tough trip to Grimsby Town this weekend.

Garratt told the club’s official web-site: “It has been a relatively good start and the performances have been good. We feel that we should have had more points than we have got. We perhaps deserve to have won one of the other games but it has been a decent start.

“We know that if the performances are good then the results will follow, so that is what we will be aiming to do in each game.

“There is always room for improvement and their areas that I work on with Fred (Barber) and the coaching staff.

Ben added: “It is nice to keep clean-sheets and that is what we always strive for at the start of the games. I’ve been pleased with the last couple of clean-sheets because it has helped us get the three points. Hopefully, there will be more to come.”
