Bolton Will Be A Great Test For Us

8 August 2017

David Artell says it doesn’t matter if his counterpart at Bolton Wanderers, Phil Parkinson, makes changes for our meeting in the League Cup tomorrow night because the Championship club have real strength in depth.

The Alex host newly promoted Bolton at the Alexandra Stadium and Artell is expecting a tough encounter against a club now two leagues above us.

David told the club’s official web-site: “It doesn’t matter if Phil makes any changes to his team because they have an abundance of good players in the squad. We have watched them and they are a good side. They may have had a couple of players injured on Sunday, but they can cope with that.

“It won’t matter what Bolton side turn up on the night, because if we are not fully prepared and focussed on the job then they will turn us over. We have to prepare ourselves and be a threat in the game. We have to take our advantages when they come along.

“They are two leagues above us now, so it will be a great test. We have players here, who we think can play at a higher level. They probably think so as well, so now is their chance to go and show it. It’s there for them to make a bit of a name for themselves.

“The challenge is there for them, so let’s see how well they do.”
