Crewe Alexandra Manager Dave Artell has revealed his delight in securing the services of Everton midfielder Conor Grant on loan until January.
The 22-year-old has a wealth of experience having enjoyed similar spells at Motherwell, Ipswich and twice at Doncaster, and Artell is hoping the midfielder can make a real difference in The Alex side.
Artell said: “First and foremost, Conor Grant is a good player. He has been there and seen it.
“He scored against us for Doncaster, twice, and we think we have a good player who can push our own two young lads. If they need a breather, then Conor is the man.
“All-in-all, I think we’ve got a real good player that can help us and increase our chances of having 11 players performing every week.
“This will be his fifth loan spell. He’s been at Ipswich, Motherwell & Doncaster twice, where he was top drawer last year & in his first spell he was even better.
“He’s had interest from a League One Club and he’s chosen to come here. He believes what we’re trying to do, and he believes that he’ll progress his career here, so that’s a really good thing to hear.
“We think we’ve got a really good player, and hopefully that will manifest itself in the games coming up.”
