Artell: "Performances Into Points"

18 August 2017

David Artell wants his players to turn promising performances into points, starting with tomorrow’s visit of Barnet. Crewe Alexandra have drawn their opening two EFL games this season against Mansfield and Newport.

Artell has been relatively pleased with the overall displays but he is looking for his side to record those first three points against the Londoners at Gresty Road tomorrow afternoon.

The Crewe Alexandra boss told the club’s official web-site: “If you had said at the start of the season that we would have four games at home then we would have taken it. You prefer to play at home than away but over the season you play everyone home and away.

“I think the fans that have come to the three games have seen us perform well. Their support has been terrific by the way, so hopefully we can get that first win to make them even more satisfied.

“We have had decent performances but not quite managed to get the result. With the performances being there, hopefully we can start with the three points on Saturday.

“It has not been disastrous. We haven’t been turned over by a superior team but we haven’t won either.

“We all think that we have goals in this team. We will score goals and it is up to us as a collective to stop them.”
