With the club’s Under-23s in away action at Cardiff City this Friday, first-team boss David Artell says that will be a factor in his squad selection for our derby clash at Port Vale the following day.

Artell says that the club can cope with the fixture demands and the Under-23 squad will be selected accordingly by Development coach Alex Morris.

The club’s Under-23s were also in action on Monday afternoon, defeating Millwall 3-0 at Reaseheath.

Artell explained to the club’s official web-site: “The Under-23s have another game on Friday away in Cardiff, so that will be a factor. We will give players game time if we feel we need them.

“We will assess who is available and decide on the squads to play the two games. There may be some who get game time on Friday, who may be involved in the squad on Saturday. Some won’t play at Cardiff because we will need them the following day. That is the way it is but we will cope. I’m fine with it. “
