Assistant Manager talks important duo contract options
Crewe Assistant Manager Kenny Lunt spoke glowingly of the Club's academy products James Jones & George Cooper after it was announced the pair had earned a 12-month option on their current deals.
The pair will now be at Gresty Road until a minimum of June 2018, with Lunt hoping they can both continue their upward curve of improvement & performances to help the Club push on.
He said "It's great news. They're two of our players that we've brought through they academy & we've got high hopes for.
"They've both been main players for us this year & hopefully they can keep developing & keep carrying on what they're doing & then eventually moving on in the future.
"We don't want players of that standard to leave us now. We want to keep them, add to the squad then hopefully they'll keep on improving.
"They've still got a bit to do, both could score more goals & if they can both keep doing that then I'm sure the time will come where people will starting looking at them & hopefully they can get the move that they want & we want."
