Home-grown midfielder's deal extended by further 12 monthsCrewe Alexandra midfielder James Jones has had the one-year option triggered on his current contract to keep him at The Alexandra Stadium until summer 2018.
The academy product's deal was due to expire this summer, but the Club had an option to extend the contract.
The 21-year-old has amassed over 100 appearances for the Club since making his debut in 2014, moving from strength to strength to cement himself in the centre of the Alex's midfield.
Also gaining international recognition with Scotland's Under 21 set-up, Jones has been in fine form this season, bagging nine goals in 44 appearances for Crewe.
Crewe have formally triggered the option with the EFL & it's now confirmed that Jonah will remain a Crewe player until at least June 2018.
