Boss Remains Hopeful On His Skipper

David Artell reveals defender will see consultant today after undergoing scan yesterday.

. David Artell has admitted to the club’s official web-site that he is waiting on one or two ahead of tomorrow’s home game against Leyton Orient. The manager’s major concern will be the fitness of his captain George Ray, who has visited a consultant this morning after having a scan on his back yesterday

Artell says he remains 'hopeful and optimistic' of the central defender being available but there is no doubt that the former Wales Under-21 International is struggling.

Artell told the club’s official web-site: “There are one or two we are unsure about yet. We will find out about George today. He has had a scan and he will have a different type of scan today. I remain hopeful and optimistic on him but we’ll have to wait and see.

“If he can play then we will go from there. If he doesn’t make it then we have players capable of coming in and doing the job.

“It happened when George went off on Monday. It wasn’t ideal but I thought Perry and Billy were our best players, so I’ve no worries about that.”
