Billy: "We Go Again Saturday"

Bingham targets three point after disappointing defeat on Monday.

Billy Bingham says that the Alex dressing room is determined to put Monday’s disappointing 3-0 defeat to Yeovil behind them as quickly as possible by acquiring the three points we need to make sure we are safe this weekend. Bingham was one player to come out with some credit from Monday after filling in at centre-half at Huish Park after captain George Ray was unable to continue after the half-time interval due to a back injury.

Bingham competed until the final minute and drew praise from boss David Artell. The former Dagenham man revealed that he had never played in the centre of defence before but was prepared to do it for the team.

Bingham told Crewe Alex PlayerHD: “We were extremely disappointed with the performance on Monday. I don’t know what it was but I thought we were lethargic and didn’t threaten them enough. We conceded from three set pieces and that was hugely disappointing because we had worked on it during the week.

“We have got to eradicate those mistakes because they are costing us. We have conceded three direct free-kicks recently and there is not a lot you can do about that, but we can stop goals going in from corners and free-kicks going into our the box.

Bill added: “We have to go again on Saturday. I haven’t played centre-half before but the manager asked me to do it and I was prepared to play there for the team. We didn’t have too many options and I would do it again if the team need me to.”
