Artell:"Accrington Was Up There With Hartlepool"

Boss compares feeling after Stanley collapse to Pools trip

Alex Manager Dave Artell compared the way he felt after the second half Accrington Stanley collapse to the cold Tuesday night February tip at Hartlepool.

By his own admission, that 4-0 defeat at Victoria Park was Artell's lowest point as Crewe Manager - but he has admitted that the second-half performance against Stanley ran it really close.

He said: "It was disappointing in the second half, that's for sure.

"I don't think it's uncommon for this football club historically to have moments like that - but that doesn't mean we should just accept it, far from it.

"Hartlepool was a real tough, tough night I have to say - the worst - but Accrington wasn't far behind it. The feeling if gave was certainly up there with Hartlepool.

"We can't do that. We can't play some magnificent football to get into a great position & then not come away with three points.

"We've got to make sure that when we play well, we've got to come away with three points. We did do well for 45, 50 minutes, but after that they way we performed was unacceptable."
