Artell Praises Coleman's Accrington

7 April 2017

Boss hopeful of de-railing Stanley's 12-game unbeaten run

Crewe boss Dave Artell has praised Accrington manager John Coleman ahead of the fixture between the sides - with Stanley currently on a 12 match unbeaten run.

Artell admires Coleman's work at The Wham Stadium, but with the Alex on their own three match winning run away from home, Artell will be hoping to spoil the party.

Dave said: "John has done a terrific job, let's not kid ourselves on. He's done fantastic for them over a number of years.

"He gets the odd experienced pro that most manager's have given up on & polishes them up & makes them into a decent League Two player.

"Then he'll also unearth an unconventional youngster that everyone thinks is not very good, and then suddenly plays 40 games at a good standard - he has a real good blend.

"They've got some quality in the team, they're 12 unbeaten - I bet no-one else in the league is 12 unbeaten. That says it all, you don't need to go any further than that.

"If you're 12 unbeaten you've got some resilience, some know-how & some quality. That's all credit to Accrington and John Coleman.

"But we've won three away games on the bounce without conceding a goal, so we've got something to protect and defend. We're going to Accrington in the same mind-set to continue our own run."
