Boss looking forward to Plymouth Argyle challenge

David Artell is looking forward to tackling League Two title hopefuls Plymouth Argyle this weekend. A bumper crowd is expected at Home Park as the Pilgrims aim to continue to apply pressure on Doncaster Rovers for the EFL League Two title.

The Crewe boss is an admirer of the job Derek Adams has achieved at Plymouth this season, securing promotion with games to spare, but he knows that the demanding Scot will be after the title. Plymouth are currently two points behind Doncaster with two games left.

Ahead of our trip South, Artell said: “Plymouth will be going for the title and we want to end the season with two wins. That is our aim and we will be professional.

“We will hopefully share a drink with Derek and his staff afterwards and congratulate them on their achievement because it is not easy to get out of this division, but hopefully we will be doing that after taking the points off them.

“There is sure to be a great atmosphere there. I know they have sold a lot of tickets, for what is their last home game, so it is something we are looking forward to. Hopefully, we can spoil their party a bit.

Artell added: “We went to Portsmouth and played them off the pitch that day. We won convincingly and limited their chances on a goal and that is what we will be looking to do again, but we know what a good side Plymouth are.”
