Artell: "Let's Get Back On It"

Alex boss says players know there has be a vast improvement on Monday showing at Yeovil.

Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell has warned his players to ‘get back on it’ against Leyton Orient this weekend after Monday’s disappointing 3-0 defeat at Yeovil. The Alex boss says he won’t be needing to motivate his players too much as they have something to prove after failing to win in their last four games.

Following the defeat at Huish Park, Artell told the club’s official web-site: “We went from a good performance and a good point against an in-form Notts County on Friday to a real inept performance on Monday.

“It is up to us to get back on track and to get back where we were before the last four games. The players know they have to get back on it because Monday’s performance was not acceptable.

“If we put a shift in then we have the talent and ability in the group to get a result. I said to the players on Monday that they have added pressure to their performance this week. They have had time to reflect on the performance and they won’t need too much motivation from me. They know they have to improve.

“The lads responded superbly to win at Portsmouth and that came on the back of a disappointing 4-0 defeat at Hartlepool, so they know they can do it. They need to be on it and make sure we come out on the right side of the result.”
