Artell: "Emotion Does Not Come Into It"

21 April 2017

David Artell says he cannot afford to have any sympathy for Orient if they are relegated tomorrow

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says that emotions cannot come into tomorrow’s home game against Leyton Orient. Crewe still need a couple of points to be sure of playing in the EFL next season whilst our opponents Leyton Orient need the three points to keep alive their slim hopes of survival.

Artell says that his only focus is making sure Crewe Alexandra get back to winning away after collecting just one point from our last four games.

Ahead of this weekend’s fixture, David told us: “Sympathy and emotion cannot come into it. It is professional sport at an elite level. We want the three points. I want to win every game, regardless of who the opposition are or the circumstances they find themselves in.

“We have got a job to do. We need the points ourselves because we want to finish the season with as many points as we can get. That has to be our focus.

The boss added: “Forget emotion. It is all about commitment and we have a game of football to win. I want to do well every day, in every game and if are committed and at it 100% then I still believe we can beat most teams in this league.”
