Steve: "No-One Getting Carried Away"

19 September 2016

Steve Davis praises his players work after going third in the table.

Steve Davis is delighted that three successive league wins has propelled us into the top three in League Two but the Crewe Alexandra boss is far from getting carried away. A well-deserved 2-0 win over Grimsby saw Crewe move into one of the three automatic posts behind league leaders Plymouth and Doncaster Rovers, but Steve knows that this is just the start of a gruelling season.

Following a controlled victory at Blundell Park, Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Slowly we are beginning to recover and restore some pride with our work ethic and through our performances.

“This is the start of a long season but I am pleased that we are in the position we are in. That is the reward for the players and the work and graft they put in during the summer.

“There will be no-one here getting carried away because there is a long way to go and I know how quickly football can change.

He added: “You have to guard against complacency and I have to make sure that the hard work continues every day in training.”
