Chelsea-loanee Kiwomya picked the ball up in his own half with one thought in his mind and drove towards the Newport defence, before checking his run, cutting inside and leashing an effort into the top right corner of the net. Newport pulled a goal back in the second half meaning that the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Carey received the ball from Jimmy Spencer on the right touchline with a lot of work to do, but Mansfield left back Mal Benning backed off and allowed Carey to run at him, cut inside and feign to shoot, before dragging it past Benning and looping a chipped finish over Brian Jensen. Carey’s second of the game sealed a comfortable 2-0 win for Plymouth.

After striding out of defense and beating Mitch Rose, Finland international Dan O’Shaughnessy launched an unstoppable bending shot from 30-yards past Scott Shearer in the Mansfield net. This levelled up the scores at 1-1, which is how the game finished.
